Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

My name is Charity, and I’m starting this GoFundMe for my sweet, loving cousin, Heather. She’s just a couple of years younger than me, and it breaks my heart to see her going through so much. I can’t imagine facing all that she’s dealing with—but I believe with all my heart that God is walking with her every step of the way.

Right now, our dear Heather is in a rehabilitation center after experiencing a medical emergency that resulted in the loss of movement on the left side of her body due to a stroke. This has been an incredibly difficult and unexpected season for Heather and her family as she has been battling breast & bone cancer prior to the stroke. But we believe, with all our hearts, that with Jesus, all things are possible. Heather is covered in His love, and we stand in faith that she is being healed by His stripes.

Just last week, Heather was preparing to return to work. Now, instead of resuming normal life, she and her husband are navigating this overwhelming challenge. Her loving husband has exhausted all his PTO to be by her side, and while he continues to visit her daily, the emotional and financial stress is mounting.

We’re raising funds to help cover their everyday essentials—gas for those daily visits to the rehab center, utilities, and other bills that Heather and her husband usually manage together. These are the things no family should have to worry about while focusing on healing.

Heather and her husband would never ask for help themselves—but that’s exactly why we’re asking for them. Anything you can give would make a difference, even if it’s just a few dollars. And if you’re unable to give financially, we humbly ask that you lift Heather in your prayers and add her name to your prayer list.

Heather’s daughter, son-in-law, and their beautiful little girl had planned to fly home to celebrate her granddaughter’s 2nd birthday—a special milestone filled with joy. Though they’ve been here now, instead of celebrating as planned, much of their time is being spent visiting Heather in the rehab center along with her son, mother, and father.

Update on Heather’s Health

First, from the bottom of our hearts—thank you. To every one of you who has given, prayed, or simply held Heather in your thoughts, we are deeply grateful. Your love, generosity, and prayers have brought real comfort during this incredibly difficult time.

At the beginning of the month, Heather was discharged from the rehabilitation center. She is now back home, filled with hope and determination, doing everything she can to regain movement on the left side of her body while enduring great pain from the bone cancer in her back. She’s experienced a bit of movement in her fingers—just a little, but every bit matters, and it gives us hope.

Right now, she spends most of her days in a hospital bed in her living room or in a wheelchair. She continues to fight, to pray, and to believe in her healing. We ask again—please continue to lift Heather and her family in prayer as they navigate this challenging journey. She’s not yet able to return to work, and every day brings new hurdles.
