Help Heather Overcome Her Medical Battle
Donation protected
I am a friend of Heather and Aaron Kimble. I want to share their story as I know it. Please help this wonderful family and pass this GoFundMe opportunity along to everyone you know.
Heather and Aaron Kimble run TCB, an amazing mixed martial arts program that takes in kids and troubled youth.
I was one of those "hard luck cases as younger man myself. I know how important it is to have a place...any place...where acceptance, love and belongingness can be found. Aaron and Heather provide this for their community. They give more than time. They coach and mentor these kids and help them find motivation to succeed. Nothing can be more noble in this world where gangs, drugs, and suffering wreck lives without good people doing something for others. Heather and Aaron are those people.
Not only are the Kimbles loving and caring, they are great Christian folk doing their part to set an example for all to find a relationship with God through Jesus Christ and they do so in a very nonjudgmental and loving way. I am a witness to their example. It is all over their social media channels and rooted in their souls.
Heather is the Mama Bear of the group always watching after her "cubs" so to speak. She is loving and nurturing to say the least. Her relationship with Aaron is one of great support, compassion and love that embodies everything good kids need...not to mention being a powerhouse of love for her own children. Her example strikes the balance the students of TCB needs with Aaron providing, training and presiding over his 100+ student team. This is their life and it has been a blessed life.
Recently, Heather was not feeling well. Immediately Aaron knew something was wrong. Simple discomfort quickly because intense pain and he took his sweet wife to the hospital. After a few diagnostics the ER doctor was planning to discharge Heather but Aaron insisted on a deeper look. They ultimately had a CT/PET scan which revealed a tumor. This mass was isolated (not yet spread throughout her body). But was of great concern. Doctors met and discussed options. Surgery was the only real option. The risk is great for paralysis of the face and her arm given the location of the tumor and the nerves in the face and neck. Aaron was heartbroken and while a champion martial arts coach, he was feeling like this was devastating. Heather, reminded him that this is just another obstacle to overcome. This is what they do daily with training champions. Aaron immediately knew despair wouldn't change anything. He dug deep and together they decided to make this fight. It would be for more than a medal or even a championship trophy. It would be the fight for life and health of his beloved wife.
Let me remind everyone reading that Aaron and Heather are humble people. They are the epitome of salt if the earth folks. They would never ask me or anyone else for help unless it was essential for success. Just as this amazing couple have helped hundreds in their community, I am asking on their behalf (with their permission) to build this GoFundMe fundraiser.
Here is the truth as I know it.
The surgery is going to be about 10+ hours.
They jaw and neck will be opened up to expose the tumor.
It will require a neurologist and an orthopedic surgeon.
Their medical expenses will be extensive. By all estimates I would say $50,000.
There will be rehabilitation and physical therapy afterwards.
There will be medication and hospitalization.
Your help is essential for their success.
Let's please do what you can. Even one dollar will help but I am asking for each of you to consider giving $100. A few will be able to give $500-$1000 so please pray for inspiration to be as charitable as you can be. The goal I have set here is for $50,000 but it will scale with smaller objective goals along the way. I think it will start about $6,500.
God bless you all and God Bless Heather in her upcoming fight. She is a champion after all but this won't be in the ring. It will be a fight like no other.
Sincerely,
