Hi, my name is Andrea Ortiz Burnside, and I’m creating this GoFundMe for my niece, Heather McKay - a devoted single mother of two, a lifelong community servant, and someone who now needs our urgent support.

After a routine medical visit, Heather recently received an unexpected and devastating diagnosis requiring immediate surgery for cancer. Her surgery is scheduled for August 14th, and it must happen immediately to prevent further problems such as it metastasizing. Sadly, Heather is uninsured and must cover all medical expenses out of pocket.

Her generosity has touched countless lives, saved lives, and her two children have proudly followed in her footsteps.

This life-altering diagnosis comes just before a milestone birthday — a time that should be full of joy and reflection for her and her children.
