Hi all! I am Dawn Matchan and have started this GoFundMe to help Heather Lutterman with unexpected medical costs.

Heather is a preschool teacher at Grace Bible Chapel. She loves kids and gives freely of herself and her time not only as a teacher but also as a Cubbies leader and pianist at Grace. She is the first to bring people meals when they are sick, have had surgery, or are just going through a tough time in life. She is beyond kind and giving and always the first to offer help whenever needed.

Now it is time to help her! On her first day of summer break, Heather hurt her leg. She didn’t think much about it at the time, and it started to get better until it got worse. This past Sunday, Heather ended up in the ER with pain in her leg and on each side of her rib cage. After blood work and a CT scan, it was discovered that Heather had a blood clot in her leg as well as some in her lungs.

Heather was taken by ambulance from GICH to St. Mary’s in Duluth, where she spent 5 days. Heather has to pay for her own medical insurance and has a very high deductible. In addition, St. Mary’s is out of network, so the extent of her medical costs at this time is unknown but will more than likely exceed $10,000 due to the ambulance transfer, medications, time in the hospital, and ongoing medical appointments to monitor her blood levels and the clots as they dissolve.

So please help if you can and give what you can. Anything will help. Let’s show Heather that we are there for her in her time of need just like she is always there for everyone else! And please keep Heather in your thoughts and prayers as she recovers!
