Help Heather Kick Crohn's

We are friends of Heather, raising money to help her while she battles Crohn's disease. Crohn's is an autoimmune disorder that affects someone's entire gastrointestinal tract. Because it's an inflammatory condition, it can also lead to severe and life threatening problems in other areas of the body. 

 

Heather has struggled with Crohn's for decades. In August, she had a flare-up, developed antibodies to her medication, and came out of remission. Unfortunately, the flare-up led to a 3-week hospitalization in November and a month of recovery at home through December. She had been back at work for two weeks when her condition worsened again. She is now back in the hospital, fighting to get stronger so she can be released. Heather is an exceptional, single mother of 3 amazing boys and is honestly the best person we know. If you know Heather, you know it. You know she is the first to help a friend in need, and now she needs us.

If you don't know Heather, you should know that she is a mother first and also an incredibly hard worker. She's a Maintenance Ma'am and when the iconic Austin "I Love You So Much" mural was graffitied, Heather repaired it. She uses a power drill with a whisk attachment instead of a mixer when she bakes. The beach is her happy place. Halloween is her jam. She loves riding bikes and playing sports with her kids, mowing the lawn, and having everyone over to her house. Kids are always invited. She knows everyone's birthdays and will make sure no one else forgets it. Everyone is her best friend. 

We are hoping to collect two months worth of mortgage and bills, because best case scenario, even out of the hospital, it will take some time for Heather to be consistently well so that she can work. We often say "it takes a village" and every contribution will help boost Heather and create space for healing. Please help if you are able.
