We are raising money to help our dear friend and sister, Heather Mason, who has been an inspirational warrior in her battle against cancer.
Heather has faced tremendous challenges, having already conquered thyroid cancer in 2011. However, in February 2023, she received the devastating news of being diagnosed with breast cancer. Determined to take control of her health and future, Heather made the brave decision to undergo a bilateral (double) mastectomy due to her family's alarming history with the disease.
Despite her unwavering strength, Heather's journey has not been without setbacks. Currently, at 7 weeks post-op, she is courageously fighting recurring infections while striving to heal in preparation for her next surgery. Scheduled for June 30, the extensive reconstruction surgery requires a grueling 6-8 week recovery period, assuming there are no unforeseen complications.
Unfortunately, life has thrown Heather another curveball as she recently experienced an unexpected job and housing loss, which takes effect August 1. Now, Heather and her family find themselves navigating surgery, recovery, a job search, and a major relocation all at once.
Heather has always devoted her time and energy helping others, particularly women. Most recently, she has been building a business dedicated to strengthening & supporting women dealing with trauma and emotional challenges - a business she's had to put on hold this year to prioritize her own treatment and recovery.

- One of the critical elements we aim to secure is temporary housing for her in August. By ensuring she can stay near her surgical team in California until she is fully recovered and ready to join her family in Utah, we can help alleviate some of the immense stress and financial burden she faces.
- Additionally, as she transitions to a new state and needs to change insurance providers for follow-up care, we are seeking financial assistance to ease relocation expenses and ensure she receives the ongoing medical attention she requires.
