Hi everyone! My name is Heather, and until recently I was a healthy and active 35 year old just living my best pandemic era life. I enjoyed walking my two deaf dogs, taking them to the beach in SoCal, trips to Disneyland, and sightseeing in my city. In September I suffered a viral infection that triggered a downward spiral into Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I’m now barely able to walk my dogs through the neighborhood, which they need as we live in a small apartment with no yard. Some days I am unable to have the strength to get out of bed.

Here’s where you can help. I have run out of money battling the process to get on disability benefits, but desperately need a power wheelchair. I have scoured every government resource, charitable organization, craigslist, facebook, etc. The bottom line is these chairs cost thousands of dollars, which is my whole savings. I’m hoping I can get enough donations to at least be able to purchase a used chair, folding and lightweight because I live alone in a very small apartment.

Having a chair would be a huge improvement to my quality of life which has taken a massive downward turn, as has my mental health. My doggies and I would be forever grateful for any help you are able to give, as we adjust and learn to navigate this new normal.
