Help Heather Bernier's Family Rebuild After Wheeling Flood
Donation protected
During the catastrophic flooding in Wheeling, West Virginia, Heather and her family lived through a nightmare no one should ever have to face. As the waters rose rapidly around their trailer, there was no time to escape. In a desperate attempt to survive, Heather, her teenage daughter, her young son, and her boyfriend Rob climbed onto the roof of their trailer — clinging to the hope that it would be enough to stay alive.
But the storm had other plans.
The floodwaters became so powerful that their trailer was torn from its foundation and swept away. As it floated through the dark, rushing waters, it eventually slammed into a tree. Somehow, through fear, courage, and adrenaline, Heather and her family climbed from the roof of their collapsing home into the branches of that tree — and held on for hours.
They were stranded above the flood, cold, soaked, and terrified, waiting and praying for help as the water raged beneath them.
Thanks to first responders, they were eventually rescued. But they lost everything.
Their home, all of their belongings, their stability — gone in an instant.
Now, Heather and her children are starting over with nothing. This GoFundMe has been created to help them rebuild from the ground up. They need clothing, food, school supplies, and the basic necessities of life — things no family should have to go without.
Every single dollar raised will go directly to helping Heather’s family get back on their feet. If you’re able to give, no matter the amount, please know that it will make a real difference. And if you can’t donate right now, sharing their story means the world.
Heather didn’t choose this disaster — but with your support, she can begin to rebuild, recover, and provide her children with a safe place to call home once again.
Thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your help.
