I am writing with a heart heavy with sorrow to share devastating news about a truly extraordinary person—my dear friend and co-worker of over 20 years, Heather Aleck. Just a few days ago, Heather was placed in hospice care, and the reality of her condition feels almost too painful to grasp.

Heather has always been a beacon of strength and resilience, both personally and professionally. She faced her battle with a relentless and cruel illness with a courage that can only be described as heroic. Despite undergoing major surgeries and enduring relentless treatments, Heather never complained. She continued to work tirelessly and selflessly, always putting others before herself.

Heather celebrated her 47th birthday in May, but her focus has always been on her family—her two precious daughters, Haley and Peyton. Haley has bravely put her college studies on hold to be by her mother’s side, while Peyton, a freshman in high school, has been a source of immense pride and love for Heather. John, Heather’s devoted husband, is grappling with an overwhelming sadness, trying to remain strong for Heather and their daughters in the face of this heartbreaking reality.

For Heather, work was more than just a job; it was a source of joy and a second family. Her dedication was boundless, and her impact on those around her was profound.
