To our dear community,
On August 1, Heartcore closed its doors again due to the government mandated shutdown.
In July, we held classes at half capacity with a strong, dedicated team of instructors. We worked hard to develop a strict COVID-19 protocol, train our staff and educate our community on how to safely return to gyms in this new era. We're thankful to each and every one of you who came and took class! However, due to our limited capacity, we lost money being open - instead of breaking even as we hoped.
We're now asking for our community’s support to help our business stay open in these uncertain times.
Since Heartcore opened in 2014, it’s been three sisters pouring love and hard work into building and growing a fitness community from the ground up.
Now with three locations in the Peninsula, we always stayed committed to delivering our best to the amazing community we built. We want to continue being a space for you to transform, strengthen and celebrate yourself - but we will need your support to do so!
The three months we were closed (April-June) , we were able to pay our necessary expenses with a grant from the San Mateo County Strong Fund, the Economic Injury Disaster Loan, and the PPP Loan. We’re currently waiting to apply for a second PPP Loan.
We're hoping to raise enough founds to cover our bare minimum operating expenses for the rest of the year. We're unsure when the government will lift the restrictions so we're preparing for a longer closure. It includes: rent for 3 locations, insurance, equipment leases, anticipated hourly payroll for our studio managers and money owed to our landlords for the months we were closed.
Operating expenses for rest of 2020 - $40,646 Total
*UPDATE: The bulk of our expenses ($126,800) is our rent payments. We informed our landlords beginning Sept 1 we can no longer afford to uphold our lease agreements while our business is closed. We're still in negotiations with them, but we've lowered the initial amount we we're asking for on GoFundMe by $126,800.
We humbly ask you to consider donating the cost of your monthly membership, such as $199 - or any amount you can, so Heartcore can survive the rest of the year. If you're unable to donate, please sign our petition here directed to our landlords to waive our rent.
We are so proud of the community we’ve built in the past 6 years and we hope to continue growing stronger with you.
Thank you for your consideration.
