Healthy Plan(t)et sustained severe flood damage.

Because of a variety of issues, they do not have any coverage for this eventuality. Their crop is too commercial to be covered by homeowner's insurance, but too small to be covered by private insurance or public assistance.

The farmer's market where they usually sell their crop has been destroyed, and along with it, their source of income.

The ground is so waterlogged that the roots of the plants are dying. Bushes and trees that take years to cultivate are at risk of damage and disease. Their ability to harvest is going to be affected for years into the future.

Without this income they have no way to pay their farmhands, which means no way to repair or replant, which means no income moving forward- for them or their employees. Much of the time that could be spent trying to recover the farm is being spent on daily survival needs like doing laundry by hand, cleaning flood damage to the house, or traveling into town for drinking water.

The water treatment plant in Burnsville was completely destroyed. They cannot hire help when their land has no drinking water or sewer service, both of which will likely take months to restore.

Despite all this, they are harvesting what crops remain and donating thousands of dollars of eggs and produce to local shelters and kitchens. They have food available at their farm stand on a pay-what-you-can basis, even if that means giving it away for free.

I'm looking to collect money for home repairs and to get their bills paid in the time it takes them to get the farm recovered and start making income again.
