Help Healthy Beginnings Montessori Rebuild
Donation protected
Our beautiful and family-owned Montessori school, Healthy Beginnings Montessori House (HBMH), has endured severe and significant water damage due to Texas's recent extreme weather. On Tuesday, February 16th, pipes froze within the attic, causing them to burst and leak water throughout. This flood of water pooled, and ultimately triggered our sprinkler system, compounding the water devastation. We arrived at our school to find 8" of water accumulated throughout and ceilings caving in. Though we are heartbroken at the magnitude of loss, we remain hopeful that we will overcome. Upon assessment, it is evident that less than 20% of our Montessori materials and furniture will be salvageable, not to mention the structural damage.
As a school community that remains deeply committed to our families and children, we have already begun asking ourselves how will we reopen? Given the magnitude of damage, we anticipate having to remain closed for a period of time. With a need to continue to serve and support our families during the interim, we are exploring temporary spaces to provide care while HBMH is rebuilt.
We created this fundraiser from the outpouring of support from our immediate and greater communities. Everyone is asking, "how can I help" and for that, we are indebted to your thoughtfulness and unwavering generosity. We don't have all the answers yet, as assessments continue to be made, but we know we can and will rebuild our school with your help. With your monetary support, we can continue to pay our teachers and staff, purchase classroom materials and furniture, and allow us to move into a temporary home for HBMH. This fundraiser represents our resilience and devotion to Montessori education, the children and the families we support.
We have been serving Plano, TX and surrounding areas wholeheartedly and passionately for 11 years. Healthy Beginnings Montessori House is truly a home away from home for so many. As our school is rebuilt, we will remain an authentic Montessori program founded on the importance of inclusion, respect for nature, and love for self and others. Together we will continue to create memories, stories and community by our collective effort to move beyond this trying time. We sincerely appreciate any support you can give and will be posting updates to show how these generous donations are being used. We are grateful for each of you and thank you for taking the time to hear our story. Our website
