I work with Robert.

Every day he comes to work. Every day he works hard. Every day he's polite and friendly. Every day he smiles.

Last week he wasn't at work---twice in a row.

When I asked about him I heard he had been sick for weeks but had nevertheless been coming to work.  

I learned he was in the hospital.

I found out that he would need a surgery.

I immediately wanted to find a way to help him.

In the process, I discovered that even though he works hard every day, he sometimes does not have a place to live. 

He will have hospital bills and will need a place to recover.
