Rex Was Hit by a Car — Help Him Run on the Beach Again
*Help Rex Walk Again
My sweet dog Rex was hit by a car after getting loose while on a walk with a ROVER dog walker near PCH and Myrtle. In a matter of seconds, our lives changed. Rex was struck by a vehicle and suffered a devastating injury to his hip.
Rex is a Catahoula Leopard Dog from Hana, Hawaii. He is incredibly strong, loving, and full of life. He absolutely loves the beach, running through the sand, and playing with other dogs. He’s the kind of dog that brings joy wherever he goes.
Right now Rex is in severe pain and cannot walk normally. After veterinary evaluations, we’ve been told he will likely need a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) surgery or a full hip replacement to give him a chance to walk and run again. In the worst case scenario, if his hip cannot be repaired, amputation may be the only option to relieve his pain and save his life.
These surgeries and the recovery process are extremely expensive, but Rex deserves a chance to heal and live the happy life he had before this accident. He is such a strong dog with so much love left to give.
We are asking for help during this heartbreaking time. Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward Rex’s medical care, surgery, and rehabilitation so he can hopefully run on the beach again one day.
If you cannot donate, sharing Rex’s story would mean the world to us.
Thank you for helping give Rex a second chance.
