Help Heal Our Corgi Skye Emma

Hi, my name is Susannah (Suzy) Westhoff, and I’ve created this GoFundMe to help our family cover the cost of our beloved three-and-a-half year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Skye Emma.

A week ago Skye Emma injured her back left leg while playing outback. It wasn’t broken but was clearly hurt as she would not bare weight on it. After a few days of at home care we realized that the injury wasn’t improving and was more serious; so we took her to our vet at the Aurora Animal Clinic here in Fairbanks, Alaska.

This morning at the vet Skye Emma was diagnosed with a cruciate ligament tear (the equivalent of an ACL tear in a human). The cost of the surgery, pre-operative radiographs with sedation, post-op medication, and follow up appointments after surgery (including subsequent radiographs) totals over $4,000.00.

We are devastated by the news and are praying for a miracle to help cover the costs of her surgery and treatment. Skye Emma is deeply loved by our family; especially by our two children, one of which has Autism to which she brings great comfort. She is also a great comfort and support corgi for other children who enter our home for care who have anxiety, trauma, and Autism, etc.

Skye Emma’s surgery date is set for November 9th at 11AM. Please help us heal our corgi—anything helps. We’re praying for a miracle.
