Help Heal Mommy (Evelyn Kampen) for Elise

In February, Evelyn was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called cholangiocarcinoma (cancer of the bile duct). This type of cancer is understudied and has no cure.

However, recent medical advances are showing more and more treatment options which include targeted therapies that are tailored to each individual’s own cancer fingerprint (biomarkers). By running sequencing tests on a patient’s DNA, they can map and profile mutations to see if an individual is eligible for immunotherapy or other drug therapies. These tests are not all covered through health insurance and cost between $4000-8000.

In the meantime, Evelyn has begun chemotherapy and is under good care from her oncology team.
