Help Heal Mom Maria Baker
Donation protected
On October 31st, Maria delivered her second child Noah by C-section. During the delivery an 8 cm mass was found on her colon.
On December 17th, she went in for a laparoscopic procedure to remove the primary mass, but additional masses were discovered, and the procedure was halted until further evaluation of Maria's condition. Unexpectedly, the doctors found more nodules than initially indicated; therefore, further scans and testing were required. Biopsies of the nodules were diagnosed as borderline or low-grade carcinoma of the ovaries.
On January 14th, Maria went through intensive surgery to remove her reproductive organs, omentum, and visible masses from the bladder, colon, and liver. The conclusive biopsies returned as a diagnosis of 3c low-grade ovarian cancer. Because the disease has metastasized, Maria will soon undergo six rounds of chemotherapy, followed by hormone inhibitors.
Noah's birth helped them discover this aggressive disease, and now she needs your help to beat carcinoma and get back to raising her growing family.
