Help Heal Mikey’s Heart❤️

On September 4th my cousin Mikey was rushed to the hospital with severe chest pain. He was brought to Elliot Hospital where it was believed he had a blood clot in his heart. After extensive procedures and tests it was determined the cause of his heart failure was unknown. It was then decided that the best decision was to transfer him to Mass General.

Once, he arrived at Mass General he received treatment to stabilize his heart, however his heart started to fail. The medical team then began life saving measures.

Mikey was put on life support so his heart could rest because of how weak it had become. The bottom of his heart was working at 10% when normal is 60%. As a plan B they decided to start the process of adding him to the heart transplant list, given his extremely grave condition, they wanted to be prepared for the worst.

 Plan A they administered three rounds of steroids over the period of a few days to determine if his heart could get better on it’s own. After some treatment his heart did go up to 18% so the doctors were hopeful it would continue to work.

Luckily Mikey was gradually taken off of a few machines where they closely monitored his heart. On September 11th Mikey was taken off ALL machines and was breathing ALL on his own!!! Although, his road to recovery will require future extensive surgery and an undetermined amount of time for recovery.

If anyone knows Mikey they know he is an amazing, humble, kind hearted person. He is a devoted father, husband, son, friend and the list could go on forever. Mikey’s recovery process will be costly. I intend to set up this GoFundMe to help fund his medical bills and give our Mikey the financial relief. I believe whole heartedly there is no one more deserving of some help than him and his family.

Mikey has a gorgeous young family. A beautiful wife, DJ, and two beautiful children, Luna and Leo. They are faced with the medical expenses of this catastrophe. His inability of being able to work will greatly impact his family’s finances and stability.
