I just want to start by thanking everyone who is currently here, checking on the condition of our beautiful friend, Angelique (Lica). I’m starting this go fund me for her and her family to help cover the expenses for the whole process of the rehabilitation she’s going to need to return to her vivacious and wonderful self.

On Saturday July 23rd, Lica, her husband Brandon and friend Marissa were at the Desoto Falls in Gainesville, Georgia. They had been camping and enjoying nature when they decided to hike to the waterfall. They climbed to the near top of the waterfall where several other people had climbed to enjoy the water cascading down from the top. They sat in the water for a while and when she tried to stand back up, she began slipping down the sloped rock of the falls. She quickly gained momentum and fell down multiple tiers of the waterfall, approximately 90 feet total.

She was airlifted to Northeast Georgia Medical Center where her original prognosis was bleak. She sustained a traumatic brain injury, 2 broken hips, knee cap, and tail bone. She has a dislocated clavicle, she injured multiple vertebrae and fractured multiple ribs, those just being the most severe of her injuries.

She had to undergo a 4hr life saving surgery to relieve pressure in her brain. The doctors did not have high hopes that she would be able to recover, but every step of the way she has been exceeding all expectations.

Right now she’s still in the STICU and has a very long journey to health ahead of her. She will likely need to undergo therapy to learn how to speak, eat and walk again. Until she begins rehabilitation it won’t be clear if the injuries she sustained will require further surgeries in the future.

At this point her loved ones have all gathered in the hospital to be with her every step of the way. That’s why I would like to ask that if you have it in your heart to donate, to please help as little or as much as you can. Every little bit counts and is appreciated more than we can express. I am making Brandon Kellum, her husband the beneficiary at this time, as he will be the one taking care of all bills for Lica in this time of need.
