Help Heal Hippo the Pitbull
Donation protected
On Thursday morning, 1/14/21, my sister's sweet Pitbull Hippo got out of her fenced backyard. He ran across the road and was struck by a car, which then took off without stopping. He managed to crawl to the side of the road, and my sister Ally only found him because she heard him crying for help. He is a big boy, almost 100lbs, and probably weighs more than my sister. She struggled to pick him up off the side of the busy road while other drivers sped around her, not one person stopping to help. Finally a neighbor came over and she managed to get him into the back of her car, and with her 2 small children in the backseat they took him to Red Bank Emergency Vet in Hillsborough, NJ, where they had to sit outside and wait, not able to comfort him inside. He suffered many injuries including multiple fractures to his pelvis, and is going into surgery on Saturday 1/16/21 at Red Bank Vet in Tinton Falls, NJ. He is their first baby, saved as a puppy right before she found out she was pregnant with her first child. Hippo and her daughter Hayden were raised together, and sleep together in the same bed. His vet bill so far is up to $11,000. Please find it in your heart to help save Hippo and bring him home ❤️
