Hello Dear Friends,

On August 21, 2021, my incredibly beautiful, loving, kind and immensely inspiring partner, Camille Alger, gave birth to our beautiful son, Keanu, who has become the light of our lives with each minute we spend together. Unfortunately, it was that same day that we also received news that there is a growth at the base of Camille’s skull which has been present for some time. During the tenure of her pregnancy, this growth has increased immensely causing cosmetic and visual damage to her left eye.

Camille suffers from a benign brain tumor, meningioma – a primary central nervous system tumor. As she is currently recovering from an emergency cesarean section, she has been advised by a Neurosurgeon to have surgery to immediately remove a portion of the mass before it makes her condition worse.

We are fortunate to have found this growth when we did and are grateful to have found a Neurosurgeon that will be able to perform this surgery on September 29th. This is a seven hour procedure with many risks but a high success rate, so we are remaining positive. If all goes well and depending how Camille’s body responds, she will undergo one day in ICU, three days under review at the hospital, then 6-8 weeks at home for full recovery; including occupational therapy, counseling, and physical healing. , she must continue a series of radiation sessions post–surgery to shrink it to oblivion and then continue to do monthly check-ups on the growth.

If you know Camille or have had the chance to spend even a small amount of time with her, you know she’s a firecracker with the biggest laugh, biggest spirit, and the biggest heart! Camille has always taken pride in hospitality, working as a personal chef and creating experiences that’s sure enough to make your heart melt. Unfortunately, the surgery and therapy will limit her skills, not only in her day to day life, but in her work life as well. With her recovery comes having time off of work, though the on-going flux of necessities doesn’t stop there. I am putting together a Go Fund Me to help cover the costs of managing our daily lives while Camille takes a much deserved respite to heal. Your donations would help us with necessities including rent and childcare, but most importantly, medical expenses that will come in the months ahead.
