Help Heal Beans - Fighting Cancer Together

Chihuahuas. The known ankle biters, wanna-be security dogs, "little dog syndrome" champions, vocal beyond words, and personalities that fill a room... but for those of you who have met my angel, Beans, you know she's so much different than the rest. My sweet Chihuahua, Beans, has been diagnosed with malignant Mast Cell Tumours on her back left foot. Based on the cytology report, it's likely a high-grade tumour, and my heart has shattered into a million pieces. Beans, who will be ten years old in April, is my constant companion and brings so much joy to my life. As her sole owner, I'm determined to do everything I can for her. She's more than just a pet; she's my confidante, my shadow, the one who greets me with unwavering love every single day. She’s the kind of dog who makes a house feel like a home, nestling under the covers, giving the sweetest kisses, and making everyone laugh with her hilarious personality.

But now, life has given her a battle she shouldn’t have to fight—an aggressive cancer. Conventional veterinary cancer treatment can cost upwards of $10,000 to $15,000, and unfortunately it is not feasible. If she were to see an oncologist, it would cost thousands of dollars just to do the necessary tests just to see if she if her heart and body are strong enough to undergo surgery, and radiation/chemotherapy. To give her the best fighting chance and take her comfort and well being into immense consideration, I’ve decided to use any funds to pursue an integrative approach for Beans. This combines the best of holistic medicine (focusing on healing the body, mind, and spirit) with conventional medicine when absolutely necessary. This approach focuses on supporting her immune system and overall well-being through natural therapies and diet, while still utilizing conventional veterinary medicine when necessary.

Ever since Beans' diagnosis at the end of February, I've been spending endless hours researching cancer-fighting foods for dogs with Mast Cell Tumours. The internet has an abundance of useful information, but also contains misleading information as well. There are so many right and wrong things I can do. I've learned so much so far, but I desperately need professional guidance on what exactly is safe to feed Beans, when, and the frequency. Holistic medicine, including practices like herbal remedies and acupuncture, has been used in dogs for thousands of years, with roots in traditional Chinese veterinary medicine (TCVM), and has seen increased interest and use in recent decades, especially for dogs with cancer. Holistic veterinarians use a multifaceted approach to health and disease, with diet always at its heart. They restore and maintain each animal's health based on time-tested natural healing methods. A whole food diet provides the necessary nutrients for the body to heal and recover from many diseases. This is the path I'm choosing for my beloved Beans.

When you donate, the funds will be used for Beans' integrative care plan, which includes:
* Consultations with a holistic canine nutritionist to create a carefully curated whole food diet
* Holistic therapies to support her overall well-being.
* Traditional Chinese medicine and herbal remedies.
* Targeted supplements to boost her immune system.
* Conventional veterinary interventions as needed.
* Any necessary lab work to monitor her progress and adjust her treatment plan.

The costs associated with Beans' integrative care plan, including consultations, supplements, therapies, specialized food, and lab work, are still significant, and I'm reaching out to my community for support. I know deep in my heart that there is a way I can save my pink-nosed pooch, and I believe this path will provide her with the most comprehensive care. The nature of Mast Cell Tumours is unpredictable, and the prognosis can vary. While I'm hopeful for positive outcomes, I also understand the reality of the situation. My goal is to provide her with the best quality of life, keep her comfortable and extend her time here with me.

Every donation, no matter how small, will help me cover the costs of Beans' integrative care plan and give her the happiest, most comfortable life possible, and your support will help us achieve that. Please share Beans' story and help me give her the fighting chance she deserves. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and support.

Lots of love,
