Help Heal Barb's Heart
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
Those of you who know Barb know that she is much more likely to give help than to ask for it. Her energy is infectious, and it often seems like she can push through anything. Sadly, this isn’t one of those things.
While walking with her boys to their flag football game, Barb experienced intense pain in her chest, ear, and jaw. After many tests in the ER, Barb had emergency heart surgery and stayed over in the hospital during Thanksgiving week. However, things became even more difficult when she found herself back in the hospital a couple of days before Christmas having surgery. Unfortunately, this last heart surgery did not go the way we hoped and now we must wait for the next steps—more surgeries.
This situation is so difficult for Barb because she has a rare platelet disorder that doesn’t allow her body to heal the way it should. Her blood has difficulty clotting and incisions take months to heal. Also, being on blood thinners has created other bleeding issues for Barb. For those of you who knew Barb’s Dad (Bob), he too struggled with this same blood disorder and heart issues that ultimately led to his passing in December 2021.
So, Barb will not be able to work for the next 6 months. Knowing Barb, the way we do, this is extremely difficult for her as she loves all things business. But, to truly heal, she needs to stop and rest. Barb’s health emergency is not only catastrophic for her personally but also for our business and the others we work with daily. As she continues to struggle to pay her current and upcoming expenses—the pressure on her and her family is overwhelming.
This is where we need your help. Barb needs financial support to cover the extremely high cost of her COBRA medical insurance. Next, she needs to cover the costs of her ongoing care, copays, deductibles, and medical bills. Last, she needs to make up for some of her lost income during this time. Taking off the difficult financial realities so Barb can truly rest will give her a fighting chance at recovery.
Please take a moment to give in any way you can and/or pass this along to others who are interested in donating.
Many thanks,
Marc and Team Barb
