Please Help Peter and Bambi Deal with This Shock

On Friday, April 8th, my son Peter was walking his dog Bambi in the woods near his house, when she took off after a squirrel, a common occurrence. Only this time, when she jumped on a log, she slipped and landed roughly on her front leg, and instantly broke her elbow in 3 places. She immediately started yelping in pain, and Peter picked her up, and carried her back to the house and then to the Animal Hospital.
The fracture was so bad that she was referred to a specialist, who determined that she needed emergency surgery to save her leg. Thankfully, the surgery was done on Saturday night and was successful, and Bambi was released from the Animal Hospital on Sunday with her legs intact and hope for a bright future.
Peter and I are so relieved that Bambi was able to get the care that she needed and that her leg has been saved, but the cost of such a specialized procedure is just staggering - over $10,000! With the hospital visit and follow up visits, the cost will be over $12,000.
Peter loves Bambi so much, and had to do everything he could to save her leg and give her a chance at a long and happy life.
I'm hoping that some of our friends and family will be willing to chip in to help offset this huge expense for Peter.
Thank you for you love and support of Peter and beautiful little Bambi!
