Help Aleš Fight ALS — We Are So Close

Please help Aleš in his fight against ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis).

Aleš is only 42 years old, a loving husband and father of two young children (10 and 8), and an athlete at heart — even an Olympian, devoted to hockey and sport his entire life.

Today, he is fighting for something much more important — time with his family.

When Life Changed Overnight

At just 39 years old, in what should have been the best years of his life, Aleš suddenly became seriously ill and was forced to end his career.

Our lives turned upside down.

A disease we had never expected entered our lives quietly, but progressed quickly. It took away his movement, his strength, and the things he loved most — time outdoors, time on the ice, and simple moments with his children.

A Long and Painful Journey to Diagnosis

For two long years, we searched for answers.

We went from doctor to doctor, from clinic to clinic — always returning home without answers, without treatment, without hope.

During this time, Aleš was slowly losing his strength and his ability to move.

Then came the diagnosis we feared the most: ALS.

A disease with no cure.

A disease that slowly takes away everything.

About ALS

ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease) causes the progressive loss of motor neurons, leading to complete paralysis.

It takes away the ability to move, speak, eat, and eventually breathe.

The disease progresses quickly, and life expectancy is often only a few years.

It is a cruel disease that takes everything.

We Refused to Give Up

After months of sleepless nights, research, and searching for any possible solution, we found hope.

There is a specialized clinic in the USA offering a promising experimental treatment for ALS patients.

It does not guarantee success — but it gives hope.

And Aleš is a suitable candidate.

Three Years of Fighting

For the past three years, we have been fighting and raising funds in every way we could.

We ran for him.

We sang for him.

We organized hockey games in his honor.

Along the way, we have met incredible people, built meaningful friendships, and found strength in those who have stood by us. We are truly grateful for every person who continues to support us. ❤️

We Have Come So Far

So far, we have raised 1/3 of the €900,000 needed through donations and fundraising.

Another 1/3 we will provide ourselves — through loans and by giving everything we have.

Now we are trying to raise the final part.

We are so close.

Time Is Running Out

ALS does not wait.

Every day brings new challenges. Things that are simple for a healthy person have become difficult for Aleš and for our whole family.

Soon, Aleš may no longer be able to travel for treatment.

This is our window — and it is closing.
