My Mother Spent Her Life Healing Others - She Needs Help

Hello,
My name is Ryan, and today I’m writing something I never thought I would have to. I’m reaching out to ask for help not for me, but for the most selfless, loving, and strong woman I’ve ever known: my mother.

Earlier this year, in February, our world changed. My mom had to undergo an intense, life-saving surgery to repair a serious hernia that was affecting her diaphragm, her breathing, and her ability to eat. Imagine struggling for every breath while trying to stay calm and smile for others. That's what she was doing for months before doctors finally said, “We need to operate now.”

The recovery was supposed to take about three months. We held onto that hope, counting the days until she could get back to her normal life. But healing hasn’t followed a straight line. Complications arose. Her strength didn’t come back the way we expected. She returned to work briefly, pushing herself because that’s just who she is, someone who doesn’t quit. But her body couldn’t keep up. Her doctors pulled her out of work again.

And that’s when things began to unravel financially.

My mom has been a licensed massage therapist for over 20 years. She has touched thousands of lives relieving pain, calming anxious hearts, and helping people heal in ways modern medicine often can’t. She has stayed late, worked weekends, and given free treatments to people in pain who couldn’t afford it. She has always shown up for people. She’s the kind of person who would give her last dollar to someone else if they needed it more. And now… she’s the one in need.

I’ve been doing everything I can to keep things together, working long hours, managing bills, keeping food in the house, even rationing basic things like toilet paper just to stretch our budget. But I’m falling behind. Rent is overdue. The electricity and heat bills are piling up. Our pantry is nearly empty. And through it all, my mom never complains. She worries more about me than herself, even when she’s in pain.

That’s why I’m here, writing this, hoping that someone out there will hear our story and be moved to help.

We’re not looking for a miracle just enough to give her some breathing room. Enough to make sure she has a warm place to recover, lights that stay on, food that fuels her body, and peace of mind that the roof over her head won’t be taken away.

Every single dollar donated will go directly toward:

● Rent – So she has a safe and stable place to rest and heal
● Utilities – To keep the lights and heat on in our home
● Groceries – To provide her with nourishing meals
● Medical follow-up care – Appointments, medications, and therapies she still needs
● Transportation – So she can safely get to and from the doctor

My mother is the strongest person I know but even the strongest people need help sometimes. I know it’s not easy for anyone right now, and I know you might have your own struggles. But if you’re able to give even a little $5, $10, anything it will mean more than I can ever put into words. If you can’t donate, sharing this with others would also be a huge help.

This woman has poured love into the world for her whole life. I just want to pour some of it back into her now.

Thank you truly for reading, for caring, and for standing with us this time. Your kindness is more powerful than you know.

With love and deep gratitude,
Ryan
