Help HB Abels: Critically Injured in Uber Crash on the Way to Run Sound at Louder Than Life

HB Abels needs us right now.

If you know HB, you know he's the guy who shows up. For years he's run sound for bands, fixed the problem nobody else could, and helped every one of us when we needed it. Now he's the one who needs help.

On the way to run sound for Soil at Louder Than Life, HB was in a car accident while riding in the back of an Uber. He is in the hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, in critical condition with a brain injury and severe chest injuries.

His mother, Betsy Abels, is the only family member who can make medical decisions for him, so she needs to be at his bedside. Betsy is retired and lives on Social Security, and this trip came with no warning. We don't yet know the full extent of HB's injuries, so we don't know how long she'll need to stay. We do know he won't be able to work for a long time, so his income stops while the costs begin.
