Emergency Medical Assistance: Help Hazem's family in Gaza

Emergency update from Hazem (10/06/24): "My mother is struggling with uncontrolled diabetes and high blood pressure due to the lack of medicine and food. I do not want to wait for a slow death, like what happened with my father at the end of July of this year. Please stand by us and help us. I have faith in your humanity and generosity. No matter what, your donation, no matter how small, it makes a big difference to my family."

We are Maria and Margherita, two friends from Portugal and Italy. We created this fundraiser to help our dear friend Hazem K and his family in Gaza.

In Hazem's words: "Hello I'm Hazem Karim. I find myself and my family in the shadow of war, having lost everything – our home, our past, our future, our livelihood, my father, and some of my dear family members. I am reaching out to you, asking for your generosity to help me raise the necessary resources to get out of the famine, survive, and provide a suitable and safe place for my family in light of the ongoing circumstances. Your donations will not only support daily food, drink and medicine, but will also help rebuild the shattered lives of 48 members of my family. Every contribution, no matter how small, is so valuable, and I am sincerely grateful for your kindness during this difficult time. I believe we deserve a chance to live like everyone else in this world, to blaze a new trail and rebuild what has been taken and destroyed.

"Please help us by donating whatever you can. Donations help us greatly. Your donations allow us to get much needed food, water and medication, which have surged in prices since the war began. "My father was Dr. Naif Karim, a dentist who passed away recently due to not being able to get the medical care he needed. My niece, who is a child, was also injured because of the war, because of an explosion caused by a bomb when she was trying to get some water for her and her sisters."

"Children suffer from skin diseases, ulcers and intestinal infections. I need to provide them with medicine, food and drink, to allow them to survive and see better days."

"Since the war began, they have gone through a lot of hardships no children should ever have to bear. They should be able to play and grow in safety, rather than having to run for their lives when danger is near."

"The conditions in the tent are draining and very dangerous. I want to leave war and destruction to safety in any way possible, with all the remaining members of my family. I don’t want to lose anyone else."

"My mother, my aunt, my sisters and their children, as well as my brothers, their children and their wives all need protection. We are under constant danger and may lose someone at any moment.”

Margherita and I are hoping to raise enough money to help Hazem and his family (a total of 48 family members, including 29 children under the age of 16). With your help, we will be closer to that goal.

The funds will be kept in Margherita's savings account and will be transferred to Hazem via wire transfer.
