I am a traumatic brain injury survivor and a single mother raising my son.
In 2018, I requested accommodation as a person with disability from my employer so I could continue working, but my request was denied in 2019.
As a result, I lost my corporate job in 2019. The discrimination I experienced, led to cumulative workplace PTSD symptoms, making it even harder to recover and move forward.
Since losing my job, my ability to seek new employment has been deeply affected by my disability and the COVID-19 pandemic.
My medical condition as a traumatic brain injury survivor has not improved, and I have been waiting for more than five years for my disability claims to be processed.
These ongoing challenges have caused significant financial hardship for my family.
We have already experienced an electrical home outages due to late payment of our electricity bill, and our HOA Board of Directors has sued me for being late on HOA dues, despite my requests for accommodation as a disabled mother.
I tried my best to explain to our HOA Board of Directors that I am waiting for my disability claims, doing my best to find the right treatment for my medical conditions and hoping to find an employer who is willing to accommodate my needs so I stay employed, as a TBI Survivor.
The reason, we are staying in a small place, because my son wants to finish his College course in Music in a Community College in the City where we currently live.
If God's will, we are praying and hoping to find a more affordable place and a more better environment/community for TBI survivor(s).
We are hoping that the funds raised will help my family buy nutritious food, urgent bill/pay our overdue HOA dues, cover utility bills, and pay for medical expenses not covered by our current health insurance.
Please help us get through this very difficult time.
Your support means the world to us.
Thank you and may God bless you.
