Help Hazel Walk Again: Support Her ACL Surgery
Donation protected

Hi Everyone!
We are Laura and Maya and we have been fostering this beautiful angel of a dog, Hazel. Our friend found her on the street and we decided to take her in as a short-term foster to help find her a forever home. We thought, what the hell, just a spay and some vaccines, right?
What we thought was going to be a straightforward foster soon became a journey full of love and hope. At the beginning, we noticed she had some weakness in her back legs. Since we had no idea about her past, we thought it might have been under development or an old injury.
After all of our out-of-pocket expenses, vaccines, and spay, we had a family who LOVED her lined up. Everything was going well but the family who wanted her were concerned about her legs, all the fun she was having with them was making her more tired, and unable to get up or move around. It became clear her legs might need further investigation.
We got referred to a specialist, paid for X-rays, and found that both of her ACLs were torn. Without the surgeries on her knees, she will develop arthritis and continue to be in pain and limited. To say how sad it is to have a puppy who can't run and enjoy life is an understatement. We, and everyone lucky enough to meet her knows, that she deserves a good doggy life.
Both surgeries are about $4,000. We would appreciate any help anyone could give us! We simply cannot afford this on our own, but she needs these surgeries and we are trying our best to make it happen.
Thank you in advance for anything you can give. We are fortunate enough to be able to provide her with a home to recover in, but we need a few extra bucks.
And if anyone lives in the South Bay of Los Angeles, Redondo, Hermosa, or Manhattan Beach, and would like to meet her or have a doggy playdate, we will love it!
Thank you,
Maya and Laura
