Help Hazel Run Again: Surgery Needed
Donation protected
I’m Hazel and I’m a five year old golden retriever. My dad adopted me when I was a puppy.
Last year my dad noticed I was limping and wasn’t able to run as much as I used to. I love running with my dad out in the woods. He took me to the vet and found out both of my legs were suffering with tibial tuberosity. The vets said to my dad “imagine having two broken legs and having to walk on them everyday.” This broke my dad’s heart and I watched him cry while he held me. It made me sad seeing my dad cry. I could see he was working hard everyday for a long time to make enough to schedule my surgery. And before long my dad told me we were going on a car ride (one of my favorite things to do) and little did I know I was on my way to get surgery! When I woke up my left leg felt so much better, I felt okay enough to put pressure on my leg and run with my brother Tucker for a little bit!
I love playing with my 3 year old brother, but my right leg still hurts and I need to sit down a lot. Sometimes my dad even has to help me stand up. Tucker misses the old me that could run for miles and keep up with him.
My mom just gave birth to my second brother! I know they want my right leg to feel better, but they have to work so hard to take care of him. They still take me on adventures with them and they’re patient with me when I need to take a break.

My dad nick named me robo-hip since I have steel in my leg now. He tells me that soon I’ll hopefully have two robo-hips!
Please help them so I can run with my two brothers for the rest of my life!
