Update : Hazel got her surgery today!! She had a Complete tear of the right cranial cruciate ligament & Medial patella luxation! Total price of everything ended up being $4,200. She is getting lots of medication to help her relax & be pain free!

It began when I noticed Hazel not putting any weight on her back right leg & limping last week. We took her to the vet & they said she tore a ligament in her knee. She has lost 10lbs in the last week & all her muscle mass in that right leg. They quoted us a “starting” price of $3,800 for surgery on her knee not including all the extra fees for consults, imaging, labs, medications, etc. She is still just a puppy & seeing all her energy taken away breaks my heart. She is unable to run, play, and even laying down is a struggle. Anything helps if you’re able to!!
