Our sweet girl, Hazel the German Shepherd, went into the ER last night. She's fighting for her life with pneumonia. We don't know if she'll make it.
If you've ever met her, you know she's the most social, most fun-loving girl in town.
You've maybe met her at a local brewery, or dog park, in the Chuckanuts, or around Mt. Baker or Winthrop, around the Lost River Winery, seen her head outside the car window rolling down the highway, ears back, loving life to the fullest, across the PNW and Montana and Idaho and beyond.
From Bellingham to Winthrop to Everett to BC and across the Rockies, Hazel has been there and served her purpose.
She's protected us - saved my life from a house fire, watched dutifully up all night at mine and our friends' campsites in bear country so many times, waking up to check on us in the middle of the night, always there, always serving.
She's really special, one of a kind. And we need help affording the ER visit. As it stands, $4,000. Probably more.
I've never done this before. But here we are. If you find it in your heart to support our girl getting better, whatever it means to you, Thank You
