Hi everyone,
I never imagined I’d have to make a post like this, but my beautiful cat Hazel needs an unexpected, life saving surgery and I could really use some help to get her through it.
After multiple hospital stays, tests, and ultrasounds, her doctors discovered that one of her kidneys has stopped functioning likely due to a complication from her previous spay surgery. It appears a stitch may have accidentally tied off blood flow or blocked her ureter (the small tube that drains the kidney).
The good news and what I’m holding onto is that they found no signs of cancer. Her other kidney looks healthy, which means if she can make it through this next surgery and recovery, she can still live a long, happy, and normal life with one kidney.
Hazel has already endured so much: her initial spay surgery ($4,500), hospital stay ($4,500), specialist hospitalization and ultrasound care ($4,500), and now this upcoming kidney removal and feeding-tube surgery (estimated around $8,000–$10,300).
Altogether, her care has totaled over $23,800 far more than I ever could have anticipated or prepared for.
Through it all, Hazel has remained her sweet, strong self, still purring, still trying to climb into my lap, still fighting to heal. She deserves every chance at a full recovery.
If you’re able to help whether it’s a small donation, sharing this page, or simply sending kind words it would mean the world to both of us. Every bit truly makes a difference.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, caring, and helping me fight for her.
With love,
Tori & Hazel
