Greetings, All.
I'm Hazel Adams-Shango and I started a small family legacy farm for my three adult children and grandson during the pandemic in northeastern Vermont. I've come across some challenging times recently and have had to step away from my off-farm job in order to care for someone whom I truly love and who means the world to me. They had to have quadruple bypass surgery and experienced cardiac arrest before the procedure could begin. They were placed on life support, and the surgeons went in the next day and "fixed" them. It's been a long road to recovery, but we're making it.
I need to plant this season and to cover some of my personal expenses as I've been on Leave Without Pay for a few months and have been unable to contribute to the farm expenses and chores as I usually do. Because I'm a federal employee, I also stand like so many others facing a possible layoff or just choosing the "fork in the road."
Help me continue building up The Flying Buffalo Farm on behalf of my children and grandson. It's the one legacy that I cannot forego during this challenging time.
