Hi, my name is David. I’m 7 years old, and I want to help my little sister, Hazel.

Hazel is 4 years old. She’s smart, sweet, and incredibly strong — and she’s also fighting a very hard life long battle. Hazel has Dravet Syndrome, a rare and severe form of epilepsy that causes frequent, dangerous seizures that are difficult to control. She also has nonverbal Level 3 Autism, which means she needs full-time care and help with everything from daily tasks to communication.

Hazel had her first seizure when she was just 4 months old — a terrifying grand mal seizure that lasted over 40 minutes. From that day on, her life completely changed. By the time she was 10 months old, Hazel was officially diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome. The very next day, she was rushed to the hospital and had to be intubated in the PICU for 5 days due to nonstop seizures.

Since then, Hazel has needed 24/7 care. She can’t be left alone, even for a moment, because her seizures can happen anytime, and she’s unable to speak or explain what she’s feeling.

That’s why I (David) wanted to start this GoFundMe — to help my sister.

Where the money will go:

80% of all donations will go toward Hazel’s future care — including therapies, seizure monitoring equipment, adaptive tools, and ongoing medical needs.

20% will be donated to Dravet Syndrome research, so that one day, kids like Hazel can have better treatments — or even a cure.

Our family is doing everything we can, but the cost of care is more than we can manage alone. Hazel deserves the best chance at a safe, happy life, and we’re so grateful for anything you can do to help — whether it’s donating, sharing, or simply keeping her in your thoughts.
