Hello everyone,

I hope this message finds you well. It’s Hayley here, and I wanted to share some personal news that I hope isn’t a surprise to many of you—I’m pregnant! This unexpected blessing has come at a time of significant change and transition for my husband and I, and it has already proven to be a profound and sometimes tumultuous journey. I truly believe that our unborn son, Will, has chosen us for a reason during this pivotal moment in our lives.

As many of you know, we recently invested our entire life savings into purchasing the property we now call home. Currently, we are living in an RV while my husband works full-time to build our house. This situation means he is unable to bring in a stable income at the moment, which has placed the financial responsibility on my shoulders. While this was part of our initial plan, my surprise pregnancy has added a layer of complexity to our situation. I intend to work for as long as I can, and thankfully, our finances are stable for now. However, I anticipate needing significant support with our expenses as I prepare for a healthy postpartum period, ideally allowing me to rest for about three months after Will’s arrival.

Many of you have kindly asked how you can help and if we have a registry. After much thought, I’ve decided that a traditional registry isn’t the best fit for us right now. My husband and I are frugal and minimalistic by nature, and we prefer to seek out used, refurbished, or even free items for our baby as we need them. As I embrace my growing role as a mother, I feel a strong urge to simplify our lives. I’m not stressed about acquiring a lot of things for our baby; what matters most to us right now is ensuring we can cover our mortgage, provide healthy meals, and create a safe space for me to rest after Will is born. I trust that I will learn what we truly need as I navigate motherhood. After all, infants require little more than love and a warm body.

I write this with a mix of humility and gratitude, fully aware of the privilege that comes with owning land and property. We have poured everything into this dream, and while we had hoped to welcome a baby next year, the timing has taken us by surprise. Living on a single income for the past six months has been a challenge for both of us.

I recognize that there is much tragedy in the world right now, and many people are in need of support. Please know that I only ask for help if it is within your means. I do not wish to take from anyone who is also facing struggles.
