Help Hayk During his Recovery
Hayk was 9 years old when he first got diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, California and spent most of his childhood going to doctor appointments. He never had a normal life like other kids around his age would. Things got worse and doctors wanted to do surgery but his mom asked for a second opinion. When Hayk turned 18 he was transferred to UCLA for a Gi Specialist to monitor his stomach condition more closely and give the right medicine to sustain it. He later got diagnosed with a sickness called PSC-Primary sclerosing cholangitis which is a disease of the bile ducts in the liver. A liver transplant is the only known cure for advanced primary sclerosing cholangitis which his doctors say he may need in the future. Fast forward a couple years later Hayk’s health never got better he tried infusions every 2 weeks to every month to sustain his symptoms and at times he would take 28 tablets of medicine but nothing was really helping. On top of his chronic condition, both Hayk and his wife Karolina got CoVID-19 which also impacted their mental health and ability to work for some time. On April 28th 2021 he had a colonoscopy with the tragic news that he now has colon cancer. He needed surgery to remove the entire colon and cancer. The surgery name is called a Total Colectomy. It is a two surgery procedure. He now had the first surgery and is slowing doing better. He currently is not able to work for months during his recovery. Once he gets better from this first surgery is when the doctor will determine when it’s time for the second surgery. Meanwhile determining when or if he will need chemotherapy. He has a lot for health care expenses that come with having a chronic illness and surgery . Hayk is just 27 years of age and only has been married 2 years. His family, Arthur and Alvart as well as Rene Garcia and Isabel ask if anyone is willing to donate anything they can out of love to help Hayk and Karolina during this hard time at this young age. Thank you so much for the love and support.
