Hi, I'm Taylor, and I'm reaching out on behalf of my husband Hayden and our family during one of the hardest seasons we've ever faced. We are a pretty simple family. We love spending time together and chasing after our son Malcolm, who will be turning three in August. He is the happiest, most energetic little guy — always on his bike, always dirty from playing outside, and absolutely convinced that Spider-Man is a personal friend of his. He keeps us laughing every single day, and right now he is the reason we are fighting so hard to keep our family afloat.

Over the past several weeks, Hayden has been experiencing unexplained seizure episodes. Doctors are still working to find us answers, and we are in the middle of tests and appointments. It has been a frightening and uncertain time, and watching someone you love go through something like this — while trying to stay strong for a toddler who just wants to ride his bike and save the world — is something I wouldn't wish on anyone.

The timing of all of this has been almost unbelievable. Hayden and I both worked at a daycare that unexpectedly closed at the end of May, and when we lost our jobs, we also lost our health insurance. Hayden had found a new job and the very day he was meant to walk through those doors for the first time, his health took a turn and the seizures began. His new employer has been incredibly flexible and understanding through all of this, and we are so grateful for that kindness. But we are still without health insurance at a time when we need it most, and the medical bills are coming in fast.
