Help Hayden bring Hoya home

Donation protected

My son Hayden served in the United States Army.  While he did not serve in physical combat, he did serve in what many call “mental combat”. He lost 3 very close friends during his time in active duty. Two were lost in “mental combat” to suicide and one was killed in Syria. He has battled addiction issues on and off since he was 16 years old. When he enlisted in the Army it seemed he had finally conquered that until his losses I spoke of got the best of him again.

Upon being honorably discharged from the Army he returned home and frankly had a difficult time adjusting back to civilian life. The alcoholism got the best of him which caused many issues, both mental and physical. Finally this past January he came to me and his mother and asked for real help. On February 3rd of this year he checked into Warriors Heart in Bandera, TX. They are a rehabilitation facility which caters to veterans, active duty military and first responders for PTSD and addiction issues.

One of the programs they offer is a K9 therapy. WH adopts foster/rescue dogs and trains them as Service Animals and Emotional Support Animals.  People in therapy participate in the training and have the option to adopt one of the animals.  Hayden has bonded with the one in the picture, Hoya, and wants to bring her home. She will serve as a reminder of his time there, why he was there and the lessons he learned. She is an ESA. The fee to adopt her is between $2500-$3000. That’s for all the training, boarding, shots, spay and expenses the facility spent. If you can spare a little to help me bring Hoya home with Hayden it would mean the world to him.

Thank you and God Bless
