Hawk is a 17-week-old blind foster puppy who has already faced more challenges than most dogs ever will. Recently, Hawk suffered serious fractures to his right front leg, specifically near the elbow. After rushing him to the vet, X-rays revealed fresh fractures in the lower part of his humerus—the bone that connects into the elbow. The breaks go through the joint surface and the growth plate, making them especially severe for a puppy who is still growing. In addition to the fractures, Hawk’s right elbow is dislocated, and there is significant swelling around the area, most likely from trauma. Despite these injuries, the rest of Hawk’s body is healthy, and he remains a sweet, resilient pup who just wants to heal and play like any other puppy. The veterinary team strongly recommends that Hawk see an orthopedic specialist as soon as possible. Because the fractures involve both the joint and the growth plate, surgery is almost certainly required to repair his leg properly and give him the best chance at a full recovery. Without surgery, Hawk could lose his leg. After surgery, Hawk will also need physical therapy to help him regain strength and mobility in his leg. The costs for this emergency care are significant, and as a foster, Hawk relies on the kindness of others to get the help he needs. Every dollar raised will go directly toward his surgery and post-surgery therapy. Your support means the world to Hawk and everyone who cares for him. Thank you so much for considering a donation or sharing Hawk’s story. Every dollar truly helps give this brave puppy a second chance at a happy, healthy life.
