Help Hawaii's Anglers Shine on National Stage

There is so much talent in the fishing industry out here on the Hawaiian Islands. And I am honored to say that I will be fishing side by side with some of the best fishermen that are coming out of Hawaii. These are the top 10 qualifiers for the Nationals for the Pan American World Kayak Fishing Championships happening in Spain in 2025. This is the platform us locals here in Hawaii has been waiting for to get onto a national stage for the industry that we have a passion and genuine love for. Hunting from a sea canoe! Hawaii received our first certificate to have a sanctioned kayak fishing tournament here on Maui this past October. Kayak fisherman from all over the islands came to Maui to compete in this event. Out of the 130 fishermen there was a top 10 that was chosen. And now we have the perfect individuals to represent Hawaii and the United States in this event that is happening in August.

We are asking for donations to help send these 10 talented local kayak fishermen to represent Hawaii in the Pan American national Qualifiers happening in August 2025 at Pompano Beach Florida. The money received will help send these 10 very talented individuals that has put in their time, blood, sweat and tears to perfect their game in the kayak fishing industry. We would love to see a local boy from Hawaii get on to the national stage to compete in a sport that has been part of the culture here in Hawaii. Fishing from a sea canoe 5 mi offshore takes a certain type of individual with the right amount of grit, experience, and determination to fish in the conditions that our Pacific Ocean has to throw out. And we have found 10 of the perfect athletes to represent our state. The money received will be helping to send these individuals and helps cover some of the costs so they can compete in the SummerSlam tournament that is posted by Joe Hector and his team of professionals. Seven regions will be competing, and Hawaii is one of those lucky seven.

This is something that every one of these individuals have dreamed of since they started fishing out of a kayak. And after about 18 years we are finally going to be getting the coverage that this sport deserves. This is only the beginning! Our goal is to make this an Olympic sport for all countries to be able to compete in. The physicality and training to do these type of adventures in the waters that we call home definitely takes certain individual with experience, knowledge, and a little bit of crazyness. And each and every one of the top 10 qualifiers has all these traits instilled into them as they grew up here fishing Hawaiian water. We would love the chance to show off our talents and what we have learned through the culture of fishing in Hawaii. We would love to share our passion with the world and would like to chance to represent Hawaii and show the world what our local Anglers can do on waters that are not their own. The natural ability of reading the ocean and water conditions is something that we've learned throughout our years growing up in Hawaii. And being able to test our abilities on unknown grounds is exactly what we would like to show the rest of the world.

This chance to represent our beautiful state of Hawaii on a national stage has not only been a dream but is exactly what Hawaii needs to show the world what our fisherman can do. This is a gateway and the door opening for Hawaii and our residents to be recognized as some of the best fisherman in the world. This is an opportunity of a lifetime and just the beginning of what could possibly happen for the kayak fishing community and for our Hawaii residents and local fishermen.
