Help Haven of Refuge Build a Better Future

Haven of Refuge Community Resources is a registered and certified nonprofit organization working to establish a community center through the acquisition of land and property in the community, focused on the community. The Haven of Refuge Community Resources is striving to be a beacon of hope for those underprivileged and underserved citizens living in depressed and deprived economic zones.

Our services and focus is to provide a tutorial center for after school for children from first grade through high school seniors. Affordable daycare for middle to low income families, Feeding those without food in the community twice a week to lesson the burden of food insecurity in this community. We will serve one healthy snack and one hot meal to our daycare population during the day, and also serve a hot meal during the afternoon school program to our tutorial students . We plan to provide emergency shelter for domestic violence/abuse victims in the area. We’re working to provide violent crime victim/survivors with support, while transitioning youths from gangs to job training and good paying jobs. We’re hoping to provide scholarship awards to honor roll students graduating from high school and living at or beneath the poverty line in the amount $500 to $1000 towards college expenses.

We hope to open a community center to centralize all of our services in the south suburbs of Chicago. The Small Business Administration does not give loans to charitable organizations and there is no set aside money for new organizations such as ours. That’s why we need your help to raise funds for facilities, staff, and program materials and products, while we apply for grants that can take years to become approved.
