Help Haunani Build a Safe Home

Aloha,

We are a community on the Big Island of Hawai'i asking for your support for one of our members. She lives in a very humble home and needs our kokua (help). Below is her testimony:

"

Hi, I am Melina Haunani Young. I've been living on the ocean side of Kawaihae, HI, about as long as Minit Stop Store has been around, some 15 years. The reason I am sharing this story is that I need a big-time blessing from God, Jesus, and my new Christian ohanas (families). My mother always used to talk about building a hale (house) on the aina (land) that I am still living on. But this was 2000 or earlier. Wow, how time flew by. Now, 2025 is here and still today, sadly, no hale, just a little studio. Here are some pictures that I recently took of my place on Hawaiian Homestead Land. It's not much, but I am living in it.

Again, I am trying to let the Christian brothers and sisters know that I need financial help and volunteers in finishing up with the washroom, before the next big, strong, gusty winds come blowing my way again. I've been praying a lot to Jesus for my protection, especially for my roof, so it doesn't fly off.

So please, if anybody out there can kokua in any way with this project, it can help my dream come true.
