Hello, my name is Janene Burnam. I am located in Ogden, Utah. I am hoping to raise funds for my friend Hassan Abu Warda.
*Hello everyone, my name is Hassan Abu Warda. I am a 29-year-old man from Jabalia, northern Gaza, but my family and I were forced to flee to Jabalia, northern Gaza. I come to you today with a heavy heart, but also with a heart full of hope that you will support me and my family during this ongoing period of suffering and catastrophe. The genocide has continued for longer than we expected. So far, it has been 23 months and it is still ongoing. We do not know when it will end. Until then, we need your help. We need your help now more than ever as the circumstances worsen and things become more difficult.
The genocide took everything from me, and it continues to take away my loved ones, my friends, and my memories. My family, my home, my dreams—everything was destroyed in an instant. My brother was martyred, I was severely injured, and my father is no longer with us. At least when my brother was around, he helped me take care of our remaining family members and was a support to me. He shared the burden, and I could rely on them and on him for support. But now my brother is gone, never to return. I'm left alone to care for my ten family members, and I have a little girl who needs nourishment. I don't know when she'll return to school and play with her friends.
It's no secret that the situation in Gaza is dire. Every day is a struggle for survival. There are no jobs and no way for us to earn money. This donation is our only source of income and our only means of subsistence. The prices of even the most basic
necessities, like food, continue to rise in Gaza, making it difficult to provide even a little food for me and my family. The commission fees have also approached 50% or more, meaning that nearly half or even more of the donations are deducted by the time we receive the money. There is no way my family and I can survive without your donations. I cannot keep us alive and fed without you. Despite all of this, I still dream of a better life.
I still hold on to my dreams and plans for the future. But I cannot achieve them without your help.
I ask for your help with all my heart. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a huge difference and will help my family and I survive to build a brighter future and a better tomorrow. Your donations will save us from hunger, allow us to buy the essentials of life, secure our livelihood, and, when the time comes, help us rebuild our destroyed home.
Every dollar counts, and my family and I are deeply grateful for every donation that will keep us alive, nourish us, and help us rebuild our lives.*
Thank you for your support, compassion, generosity, and humanity. May God bless you all.
With sincere gratitude and appreciation.
Hassan
