I met Hasan four years ago at a summer camp for individuals with disabilities, and right away I was blown away by his patience and the way he just lights up a room. If you know him, you know he’s one of the kindest, most caring people out there—always looking for the good in every situation and making everyone around him feel welcome. Since then, he’s built a life in San Diego, working hard and continuing to work with individuals with disabilities, even though it’s meant being far from his family.

Hasan hasn’t seen his parents, siblings, or his nieces and nephews in four years. He’s watched them grow up on a screen, missing birthdays, holidays, and all the little moments that matter. It’s been tough, but he’s always tried to stay positive and make the best of things. Now, he finally has the chance to go back to Turkey in April and see everyone in person.

I’m hoping to raise enough to help Hasan cover his flights, food, and his regular bills at home while he’s away and can’t work. If you can chip in, even just a little, it would mean the world to him (and to me). Every bit helps bring him closer to hugging his family again.
