--March 4, 2025 Update--
The day before his surgery consultation for a bilateral TPLO, Harvey was taken to urgent care for a lump on his leg that had tripled in size and started bleeding. What was originally diagnosed as a lipoma turned out to be mast cell cancer. Thankfully, we were able to switch his surgery consult to oncology, but the news wasn’t good. An urgent surgery was scheduled for March 10th while we waited on imaging and lab results to determine how advanced his cancer was.
Unfortunately, tests showed signs of spread to two lymph nodes, with another testing positive for metastasis. He was started on antihistamines, antibiotics, and steroids in hopes of reducing the tumor’s size before surgery.
Despite being only six years old, Harvey’s projected quality time after surgery and chemo is six months or less. Given the rapid need for medical intervention, and Scout’s travel-based income, we’ve turned to fundraising to help cover the costs of his surgery, chemotherapy, and a custom prosthetic for his knee injuries. (He is no longer a candidate for TPLO.)
Scout’s hope is to take him on a road trip for a few weeks once he’s healed from surgery—driving the length of Highway 101, since his favorite place is the beach and his favorite thing to do is go on adventures.
Donations here, or through Scout’s custom wooden Polaroid sales, will go directly toward Harvey’s medical care. Any amount raised beyond the goal will help fund their road trip together.

Meet Harvey, a sweet and gentle 6-year-old rescue dog with a big heart. Over the years, Harvey has been a constant source of joy for his person and their friends, snuggling up as often as possible and usually with a favorite ball.
Recently, Harvey’s active lifestyle has been put on hold due to CCL tears in both knees, making it difficult for him to get around and enjoy his favorite activities. The best solution is a dual knee surgery (bilateral TPLO) to address both knees at the same time, ensuring a smoother recovery and a quicker return to the life he loves. However, the cost of the surgeries total $11,000. This procedure is essential to give Harvey the mobility and comfort he deserves, but it’s a significant financial challenge.
Harvey has brought so much happiness to his person and everyone who meets him, and now he could use a little help. The $11,000 cost covers both knee surgeries but not his post-operative recovery, which will need to include physical therapy to ensure his knees heal properly. He's otherwise in remarkably good health and has many years with his person to look forward to. Every bit of support will bring Harvey closer to a life where he can run, play, and enjoy his golden years pain-free.
