Funds will go towards the purchase of:
1. New boom (current one is corroded along each rivet).
2. Sail (will be doing the attempt in a ILCA 7 rig, and I currently don't own a ILCA 7 sail) - this will allow for a greater distance to be covered through higher average speeds than the ILCA 6 sail (radial).
3. Spare donations will go towards my local sailing club (Royal Victoria Yacht Club - Isle of Wight), to help support sailors of all ages young and experienced.
I will be making the attempt in The Solent, launching from the Royal Victoria Yacht Club and trying to finish there at the 12 hour mark. It would be great to see some friendly faces there. (Ideal plan is to start at 6am and finish at 6pm). Day of the attempt is TBC (waiting for a perfect weather window).
I hope you can join me on my journey as I try to document as much of it as possible. Thank you very much for your support it is greatly appreciated.
