UPDATE:

After Harry Truman’s most recent vet visit, we received some difficult news. He’s been diagnosed with cancer, a mast cell tumor growing on his prepuce. While he’s still his bright, loving self, the tumor’s location means it could eventually interfere with his ability to urinate, which may lead to an emergency.

For now, we’re focusing on keeping him comfortable and closely monitoring his condition. There is a surgical option to remove the tumor, but it would be a costly procedure, and at this time our priority is making sure his days are full of ease and care. There’s no way to know how long he has or how things will unfold, but we’re taking each day with love and gratitude for every moment together.

Meet Harry Truman, a 12-year-old kind-hearted good boy and local puggle celebrity. Wherever he goes, people can’t help but call out, “Hi Harry Truman!”, and he loves the attention! HT has been by my side for over 10 years, after he came into our lives as a stray who stole our hearts. He’s faced challenges before, twice surviving heartworm, and has traveled all across the East Coast, always showing his resilient, loving spirit.

Now in his golden years, HT enjoys the simple pleasures: watching the world through the window, leisurely walks around town, and getting lots of baps from his adoring fans.

As he’s gotten older, his health has become more complex. HT has developed allergies and skin issues that require ongoing care, recently experienced pancreatitis, and needs a diet change to support his recovery. He also has some growths that need testing, which could be nothing, but we want to be prepared for anything.
