Help Harry to try beat his cancer

Donation protected
Hi my name is Alexandria and I run My Little Kittie it’s a cat rescue here in Sydney Australia.

Harry came into my rescue back in 2018 as a scared kitty that was living in a terrible hoarding situation and had a horrible start to life. He came to me with 3 of his siblings who were all as equally scared and timid.

It has taken several years for Harry to finally love and trust humans again. Harry was always very loving to me but would always hide when people came to meet him to see if they would like to adopt him, so sadly no one has ever offered to give him a home. Harry has continued to stay with me here at the rescue and as the years went on he has become more trusting and loving.

He was finally ready to find his forever home when the unthinkable just happened. Three weeks ago I noticed a lump in his mouth, we went straight to the vet and a biopsy was done, sadly it was confirmed that it is a Squamous cell carcinoma.
I wasn’t sure what to do as I know chemo is not that successful in this condition, I shut down with sadness and I went into a state of shock because he is only young and he deserves a chance, it’s so heart breaking because to look at him he looks so healthy and it’s just so unfair and cruel.

After posting about his diagnosis on my Facebook page, I got a message from a lovely lady with some information and a new medical treatment that has worked on her own Cat and has sent him into remission. I feel I owe it to Harry to give it a go, he is only 6 Years old with so much more life to live.

The treatment is immunotherapy which is a personalised cancer vaccine that would harness Harry’s natural defences. A biopsy is used to capture Harry’s unique antigens from the surface of his tumour cells, and they are then used in a vaccine to train his immune system to recognise and attack his cancer. This is a very new treatment but has been used with some success here in Australia for both people and dogs, but most recently for several cats. It can also be used in conjunction with other medicines such as Palladia. While there can be no guarantees with cancer, this offers Harry a real chance to challenge this heartbreaking disease.

I will need to raise $800 for the vaccines and $700 for another biospy and which will include minor surgery to get the biopsy done at Box Hill Vet.

Are we able to raise $1500 to provide Harry with this chance?
The start of his life was horrendous, I don’t want the end of his life to end up the same way. I want to give him the best chance he has . If you could help me help Harry I would be much appreciated. I would love nothing more to see him beat this and to find the most amazing forever home.
